“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly…” — Psalm 1:1 KJV
Psalm 1 opens the Book of Psalms with a powerful picture of two different paths: the way of the righteous and the way of the ungodly.
It teaches us that what we listen to, meditate on, and allow to influence us matters.
🌿 1. Better Discernment
Psalm 1 teaches us not to blindly follow every voice around us. Not everybody’s advice is meant for you. Learning to recognize unhealthy influences can help protect your spiritual growth.
🌿 2. A Stronger Relationship With God’s Word
Psalm 1 says the blessed person delights in the law of the LORD and meditates on it day and night.
The more time you spend in God’s Word, the more Scripture becomes part of how you think, pray, and navigate life.
🌿 3. Spiritual Roots
Psalm 1:3 compares the righteous person to “a tree planted by the rivers of water.”
A rooted life isn’t easily shaken.
You may experience difficult seasons, but your roots can continue growing.
🌿 4. Fruit in Your Season
The tree brings forth fruit “in his season.”
That is a beautiful reminder that you don’t have to rush your growth.
God’s timing doesn’t have to look like somebody else’s timeline.
🌿 5. Stability
Psalm 1 encourages us to build our lives around God rather than temporary circumstances.
When life changes, deep spiritual roots can help you remain grounded.
👑 A Big THICKIE Reminder
You don’t have to chase every voice.
You don’t have to rush your season.
You don’t have to compare your journey.
Stay planted. Stay in God’s Word. Keep growing.
Your fruit has a season.
And when you don’t know where you’re going, remember that the LORD knows the way of the righteous.
🙏🏽 King Jesus, help me stay planted, grow in Your Word, and trust Your timing. Amen.
